David Dopp

ur Rotarian of the Day today is David Dopp. David was born in Tulsa on November 11, 1943. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1961. After high school, he attended the Dallas Institute Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated in 1964. He is the general manager of The Fitzgerald Service, which serves Tulsa in two locations: 1402 South Boulder and 3612 East 91st Street. He sees dead people.

David is a past president of the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association. He is married to Kathy, and they have two children: Laurie, a registered nurse, and Chris, a professional golfer.

David was a member of both the Southwest Rotary (1968-1972) and Will Rogers Rotary (1974-1996) before he got smart and joined the best darn Rotary club in Tulsa. David Hubbs proposed him for membership, and he was inducted into Southside Rotary on November 10, 1996. David is a Paul Harris Fellow, and he likes to golf, fish, golf, bowl, golf and golf some more.

Lex Anderson and Richard Boone

oday’s speakers are Lex Anderson and Richard Boone of St. John’s. In 2003, Lex Anderson was named Executive Vice President and Chief Finance Officer of St. John Health System. Before joining St. John, Lex was managing partner of the local office of KPMG LLP. He is a certified public accountant and has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 30 years.

Lex is an active member of many trade organizations. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Drake University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He currently serves as a director of the Tulsa Medical Education Foundation, CommunityCare Managed Healthcare Plans, and on the Audit Committee of Via Christi Health System, Wichita, KS. He has served as a board member of numerous civic organizations.

In 1984, Richard Boone joined St. John Health System as Corporate Vice President, Marketing and later became President of St John Medical Center Foundation. Before joining St. John, he served as Vice President, Marketing, Bank of Oklahoma, City Plaza.

He has undergraduate and master’s degrees from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK. He is active with the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and has served on the national cabinet. He is designated a Certified Fund Raising Executive. He is actively engaged in various civic and community activity, including board and executive committee positions on the Tulsa Area United Way and Metro Tulsa Chamber.
