Our Speaker

Our speaker for today is Neil Thruston, a docent at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. Neil graduated from the University of Houston in 1959 with a B.A. in psychology, and earned a masters of divinity in 1962 from Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas. From 1962 to1976, he was a clinical social worker and a minister for the Presbyterian Church, and in 1973 he got his masters in social work from the University of Texas in Arlington.

From 1977 to 1992, Neil worked in the radio business, starting out as a talk show host for “Nightline” in San Antonio before moving to Tulsa in 1980 and hosting shows for various stations throughout the years, including KXXO, KRMG, KELI, and KTRT. He was also an on-air personality for America’s Shopping Channel for four years.

When he left radio in 1992, he became the counter marketing coordinator for the Tulsa City/County Health Department. He planned and administered the 250 K Media/PR, Tobacco Prevention Program in northeastern Oklahoma.

Now, Neil works for the Tulsa Air and Space Museum, which is located at 3624 N. 74th E. Ave.
