Southsider Quick Notes

Last week…
- Last week, Keith James was our ROD and Donna Petty was our speaker. We watched a very impressive video about Rotary International. I hope everybody learned something new about Rotary!

- The Rotary Club of North Tulsa came by with raffle tickets for a fundraiser for their scholarships. There were three golf-related prizes.

- Happy Birthday to Jack Koehle and John Haley!

- We had a visitor from the McClain Initiative. This sustainable project teaches kids to grow their own food so that they don’t go hungry, and even set up their own farmer’s market to sell fruits and vegetables. They’re one of the projects we’ll be supporting with the Bellmon Awards.

- Bob Cales is still ill, but Billy Ward says that he’s doing better. Keep him in your prayers.

- The board voted to make Steve Stephenson an honorary member, since he’s been unable to attend meetings lately. Keep him in your prayers as well.

- Cindy Llewellyn had to resign her membership, unfortunately.

- The golf tournament that was set for June 3 has been postponed. We don’t have a new date yet, but Keith and Randy will let us know when it is.

- Dog Fancy magazine voted Biscuit Acres as one of the top 40 dog parks in America. Our park came in at #24!

- If you want to pick up some Topeca coffee for the fundraiser, see Josh Butts. We’re supposed to buy or sell 20 bags apiece.

- Monthly statements have gone out, and quarterly dues are due now! Be sure to pay up before the end of the fiscal year (June).

- Be sure to check the Upcoming Programs for our speaker list through the Change of Horses (June 30, 2010). Information on it is subject to change, but we’ll do our best to keep it updated!

- Next week our speaker will be Congresswoman Mary Fallin.
