Southside Gets Involved

January 31st, 2012

We’ve done a lot over the past couple of months: helping out at Biscuit Acres before it closed for the winter, gathering toys for the Riverside Police Department’s toy drive, and, of course, Springdale Elementary. Take a look below to see just where some of the Southsiders have been!

John 3:16 Volunteering

December 14th, 2011

In November, John 3:16 asked us to come out the week before Thanksgiving, since another group had canceled on them at this crucial time. Southsiders sprung into action, and from 4 p.m.-8 p.m., they helped sort food at John 3:16 to help needy families in Tulsa.

Thank you so much for your service and dedication, Southside Rotarians!

Salvation Army Bell Ringing – Thank You!

December 13th, 2011

A big thanks to all the Southsiders who showed up on December 3 to ring bells for the Salvation Army out at Promenade Mall. It was definitely cold and windy out there, but our group still made it out.

Thank you so much, everyone!

Rotarians in Joplin Rebuild Homes

November 8th, 2011

On October 30, Southside Rotarians went with other Rotarians from District 6110 to Joplin to help rebuild after the tornado. A big thanks to those who traveled to go!

We’ll be going to Joplin again on Saturday, Nov. 12, to build birdhouses, from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. This come and go event will be open for ages 9 and up. For more information check out our event calendar.

Thanks again to those who went to Joplin!

A New Rotary Major Donor

November 8th, 2011

We had quite the event at our club last Thursday. Our speaker, John Brodbeck, came not only to talk to us about the Rotary International Foundation, but to award a Major Donor pin to Steve and Nancy Haas for their contributions to the RI Foundation.

According to the Rotary website, a Major Donor is a couple or individual “whose combined personal outright or cumulative giving has reached $10,000. All outright contributions made to the Foundation are included in this total, regardless of the gift designation.”

Congratulations, Steve and Nancy!
