Thank you everyone for your participation in the club visioning exercise!

I know it was a long day for all of us, but we’re excited about the direction and plan for the success of Southside Rotary over the next 5 years.

Jon, we probably need to start collecting the 1 million pounds of food next week.

Eagle Scouts Honored at Southside Rotary

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

The Eagle Scout (tallest in photos) is Grant Williams. He is the Scout from Troop 945 who designed and constructed 15 wood frames that hold the waste buckets at Biscuit Acres. The wood frames have served an important purpose of keeping the buckets from receiving weather damage and creates a more sanitary set-up for visitors & volunteers to use. The wood frames were constructed in his Dad’s wood working shop at home.

The other Eagle Scout is Mitchell Moore from the same Scout Troop: 945. He delivered the frames to an industrial shop to have them spray treated with an all weather surface solution. This made them water proofed and will last increase their use longevity. Mitchell also organized and led a team to affix our five shade sails to the Biscuit Acres shade structure and two water stations.

Both Scouts received credit for their community work at BA as a part of the Eagle Scout award process. Many thanks go to Grant & Mitchell and their very supportive Dads. Southside Rotary presented the two Scouts each a certificate of appreciation and Troop 945 a $200 donation to help pay for their monthly camping expenses.
